About Stitched By Doodles
I'm Beccy & I started Cross Stitching in December 2008, with simple designs taught to me by my fiance Fran. We live in Stroud Gloucestershire with our son Ryan & pets Kizzy the Lurcher & Fudge the bunny. Alongside the craft work I am also a part time home help.
For me though cross stitching is no longer a hobby, it’s a full blown addiction & if I don't find time to get a couple of hours a day I can be a nightmare to live with.
Since having our Lurcher Kizzy, I have joined with various Lurcher groups in their aim to rescue & rehome Lurchers & Greyhounds from terrible situations & find them loving & permanent homes.
After joining one group, I had a chart done of our recently departed rescue Boxer, Roxy. Fran took this on for 92 evenings straight and of a minimum of 3 hours per night. 25,544 stitches later we had a perfect portrait of our girl. The joy this portrait gives me & the dedication Fran gave to it has inspired me to start stitching for others.
So Stitched by Doodles has been born, it has started off with cards for friends & family, and now any spare moment is spent sewing or stitching there are always new ideas coming,
Stitched By Doodles has grown so much over the years, I attend regular markets & craft events even purchasing a gazebo to partake in outside events, My family are incredibley surportive, everytime I make & sell a hand crafted piece of work a percentage goes to Southern Lurcher Rescue www.southernlurcherrescue.org.uk/
